Seeds are collected, cleaned, dried and stored. The seeds are roasted in a frying pan until they become reddish-brown. Then the seeds are ground and mixed with kali (soup). The kali is given to children for nappy rash. It the baby is unable to take the kali orally then it is given to his/her mother so that the baby may dosed by the mother. It is said that it is also given to school going children to help them overcome stuttering.
