Flowers and seeds are collected in July/August, dried, ground and mixed with flour to make bread. About 15 grams of powder is used for a single loaf. This is considered very effective against Zhahdan/Melzchomique(Lumbago) and internal injuries. In some cases the roots are dug out, dried and ground and the powder is mixed with butter oil making an ointment. This ointment is applied locally to aching parts of the body, particularly those stemming from internal injuries and backache. Sometimes the flowers and leaves are boiled in water and the decoction is given as a carminative to help digestion.
