There are two variety of Layn, both are wild. The petals of the red Layn variety are collected, dried and stored. The dried petals are ground and the powder is mixed with gur (small ball made up of' sugarcane juice by boiling) and a poultice is made which is applied to the boil to draw out the puss. After two to three applications the patient should be rid of the boil.
